Nov 16 (Reuters) - Swedish games developer Embracer (EMBRACb.ST) topped second-quarter operating profit expectations on Thursday, aided by its restructuring efforts, sending its shares up more than 11%. HOUSTON (AP) — A crash at a red light killed six people including former NFL cornerback D.J. The two-vehicle crash occurred about 2 a.m. when a Chrysler 300, apparently “going very fast, high velocity," ran the red light and collided with an SUV, Houston Police Assistant Chief Megan Howard said. A change in the way activist and private equity investors are viewed is underway, Corvex Management founder Keith Meister said Tuesday. Corporate raider is a term used to refer to aggressive activist investors. "The reason it hasn't happened more quickly is because the amazing large private equity funds have been victims of their own successes," Meister said. Activist investors, which include Trian's Nelson Peltz, can agitate for a wide variety of changes including selling off underperforming or undervalued businesses or replacing management teams. Private equity investors, meanwhile, usually build a controlling stake in a company, with the aim of taking it private and making it more valuable before selling it for a profit.

After college, Sheffield worked for Amoco Corp and later joined his father-in-law's oil company and became CEO five years later. That company would become Pioneer Natural Resources. On his return, he made Permian oil its sole focus: putting natural gas processing, oilfield services and South Texas shale assets on the block. He also embraced an emerging philosophy that emphasized shareholder returns over rapid production gains, rejecting a plan to more than quadruple Pioneer's oil production by 2026. Two of Sheffield's most significant insights were the major role technology would play in reshaping U.S. oil production and the recognition that big oil companies would eventually control the Permian, he said.

Harrison Ford has been donning the fedora and cracking the whip of the daring tomb-raider Indiana Jones for more than 40 years. The series' latest installment, "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," leans on myths from ancient Greece about a device that can supposedly turn back the hands of time. Indiana Jones suddenly looked generations younger — perfect for the movie's opening sequence, set during World War II. Founded in 1975 by celebrated "Star Wars" creator Geroge Lucas, ILM — a division of Lucasfilm, which also produces "Indiana Jones" — is at the forefront of this new Hollywood frontier. One of the team's biggest achievements has been speeding up the timeline by which filmmakers can implement these tools, Bredow said.
